The Calvay table lamp is a comtemporary design deliberately conceived as two distinct conical elements: a solid timber base and an interchangeable shade. Different combinations of timber, colour and pattern create quite different expressions, while retaining the same underlying form. This allows the lamp to be quiet and understated, or more expressive and graphic.

Lamp Base Options
The solid timber base provides the visual and tactile weight of the lamp. Each is individually made and finished, with the natural characteristics of the timber forming part of the design. There are two OD profile available: smooth or grooved. Darked timbers (oak/fumed oak) have a satin oil/wax finish. Lighter timber (maple/ash) have a matt oil/wax finish.

Lamp Shade Options
The shades are uniquely designed to be lift-on/lift-off, allowing the character of the lamp to be changed with ease. There are currenly 3 options on design: plain, wave or voronoi. As well as a natural linens, there are 4 colours avaiable on a cotton/linen mix.

Individually identified
Each Calvay lamp carries a discreet polished stainless-steel identification disc inset into the underside of the timber base.
Finished with the Hounddog Design mark and an individual serial number, the disc provides a quiet sense of provenance and identifies each lamp as an individually made piece.
No self-assembly is required. Each unit is supplied with round fabric cable (1.8m), in-line switch and E27 bulb. All componentry is CE marked and compliant with EU regulations.
