Hounddog Design is a small contemporary design studio based in East Sussex, focusing on Scandinavian inspired lighting. All designs are developed and hand-crafted to order, in-house. Modern materials having a low environmental impact, are used to provide strength, stability and consistency. Where possible the designs can be customised, giving every client the opportunity for creative input and the chance to own an individual piece meeting their exact requirements.

Nick Newlands
Nick’s background is in mechanical design engineering. In 2018 he attended a designer-maker course at the Rowden Atelier school of fine furniture in North Devon. It was a year that set the wheels in motion and where the ideas and concepts of Hounddog Design began to emerge. In 2022 Nick moved to Brighton and is now based at Robinson House Studio in Newhaven where he continues to develop and produce his unique designs.
