Block Bench

A conceptual bench seat comprising a carefully spaced array of polished end grain maple blocks, each gently profiled on their upper surface to give a smooth quilted effect. The blocks extend over the entire seating surface, lifted from the underframe to give a floating impression. Each block is spring supported, giving a subtle reactive feel. Finished with a Microcrystalline wax.
Time-consuming to produce, but I may come back to the concept some time in the furure for it’s unique functionality and aesthetic.
